Overview

Addis Ababa Tegbare-id Polytechnic College (AATPTC), established in 1942, is a pioneering technical institution in Ethiopia, dedicated to producing skilled technicians and supervisors across various sectors, including aviation, power, telecommunications, and manufacturing.

The college’s mission encompasses producing a skilled workforce with competitive and creative abilities through result-oriented training, providing industry extension support, and facilitating technology research and transfer services.

AATPTC’s Industry Extension Service Unit (IESU) plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between vocational education and industry needs. The unit offers technical and entrepreneurial training, focusing on the implementation of Kaizen—a Japanese philosophy emphasizing continuous improvement—to enhance productivity and efficiency within enterprises.

The college’s commitment to entrepreneurship is evident through initiatives like the Entrepreneurial Competency Training program, which aims to equip staff and trainees with the skills necessary to foster innovation and drive business development.

Through these comprehensive services, AATPTC’s IESU significantly contributes to the development and competitiveness of industries and enterprises in Ethiopia.
